DUBUQUE, Iowa - Freshman forward Katie Rossetti (Wauconda, Ill.) scored a team-high 13 points and grabbed six rebounds in her collegiate debut but the Carroll University women's basketball team lost to Loras College 93-57 in the opening round of the Loras Tip-Off Classic on Friday night.
Junior guard Sara Hartl (Racine, Wis.) and freshman guard Anna Menges (Manitowoc, Wis.) each contributed 10 points for Carroll, which trailed 43-33 at halftime but was outscored 32-14 in what proved to be a decisive third quarter.
Senior guard Brittney Wald (Antigo, Wis.) followed with nine points and freshman small forward Delaney Sjong (Salem, Wis.) added eight points for the Pioneers, who converted seven baskets from 3-point range and 8 of 19 free throws.
