Senior outfielder Joey Appino delivered a clutch, record-setting week for Carroll baseball, playing a key role in the Pioneers’ weekend series win over Illinois Wesleyan.

Appino went 7-for-13 at the plate with six RBIs and four runs scored, highlighted by a go-ahead three-run home run in the final game of the series that swung momentum and helped secure the weekend victory. He added a double during the series that made him the all-time doubles leader in Carroll baseball history, further cementing his place in the program’s record book.

In addition to his production at the plate, Appino added two stolen bases, consistently putting pressure on opposing defenses and creating opportunities throughout the lineup. A senior leader, his ability to deliver in key moments and impact the game in multiple ways helped fuel Carroll’s success during a crucial stretch of conference play.
