Freshman Brian Smith, from Lake Bluff, Ill., turned in a historic weekend on the track for Carroll men’s track & field, highlighted by record-breaking and nationally ranked performances in the sprint events.

Smith broke the Beloit facility record in the men’s 400 meters, winning the event in 48.00. That performance also set a new Carroll school record and currently ranks 24th nationally, marking one of the top times in Division III this season. Smith led a strong Carroll showing in the 400 meters, setting the tone for a successful weekend on the track.

In addition to his victory at Beloit, Smith continued to build momentum during the UW-Oshkosh Invitational as part of a weekend that featured PRs across multiple event groups for the Pioneers. His performances were a major highlight in a weekend defined by high-end excellence and program-wide growth.
