Sophomore defensive lineman August Johansen (Manchester, Mo.) helped lead Carroll to a 20-0 victory over Carthage in the 49th Battle for the Old Musket, as the Pioneers reclaimed the rivalry trophy and posted their second consecutive shutout.

Johansen turned in a career day, recording six total tackles, including four tackles for loss totaling 21 yards and three sacks for 19 yards. He also added four quarterback hurries as Carroll's defensive front consistently disrupted the Firebirds' offense.

His three sacks helped the Pioneers tie the program's single-game record with eight sacks. Carroll limited Carthage to just 145 total yards of offense, forced three interceptions, and recovered a fumble in one of its strongest defensive performances of the season.

Johansen's effort played a major role in Carroll improving to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in CCIW play while bringing the Old Musket back to Waukesha.
