Box Score (Grinnell, Iowa) – The Carroll University women's basketball team won their third-straight Midwest Conference game, knocking off Grinnell College on the road, 71-58.
Carroll's Malory Christenson recorded a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds. The senior entered the game with 983 career points and tonight became just the 15
th player in Pioneer women's basketball history to score 1,000 career points.
Carroll led by eight points after the first quarter but Grinnell came to life in the second quarter and pulled to within 32-29 at the break. Carroll then held just a one point advantage after three periods but outscored the hosts 24-12 in the decisive fourth quarter.
The Pioneers connected on 50.9% of their shots in the game, including 53.8% shooting in the second half.
Brittany Groer also had a strong overall game for CU, recording 18 points, six rebounds and five assists. Emma Kopp added 13 points and seven rebounds.
