(Waukesha, Wis.) – Malory Christenson scored a game high 19 points and Brittney Wald added 10 points to lead the Carroll University women's basketball team to a 54-40 Midwest Conference victory over Illinois College.
The victory improves the Pioneers to 5-5 in the MWC and keeps them in the hunt for a spot in the league's four-team post-season tournament.
Carroll shot 48% from the field in the opening half and led 34-26 at the break. Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter but Carroll outscored the visitors by six points in the fourth quarter for the comfortable margin of victory.
Emma Kopp added nine points and eight rebounds for CU while Brittany Groer added eight points and 11 rebounds.
Carroll's defense held IC to 31.4% from the field, including 25% shooting in the second half.
