CHICAGO, Ill. - The Carroll University men's soccer team lost to Illinois Institute of Technology 3-0 in a physical nonconference game at Stuart Field on Sunday afternoon.
With the frustrating loss to cap a two-game weekend road trip, Carroll dropped to 0-4-1 overall.
Illinois Tech, which improved to 2-2 overall, led 1-0 at halftime and scored two unanswered goals in the second half to pull away.
Senior midfielder Norikazu Honda scored two goals and sophomore defender/midfielder Christopher Reed had the other for Illinois Tech, which outshot the Pioneers 14-5 - maintaining a key 6-4 shot-on-goal advantage.
Sophomore goalkeeper Alex Kern registered four saves to preserve a shutout.
