Katie Rossetti (Wauconda, Ill.) contributed 12 points, five rounds and a steal as the Carroll University women's basketball team lost to No. 15-ranked Wartburg College 96-49 in the final round of the Cornell Classic on Saturday afternoon.
It was the second nonconference road loss of the early season for Carroll, which dropped to 1-2 overall.
Wartburg, which improved to 2-1 overall, outscored the Pioneers 50-30 in the first half and put the game away with a 24-8 third-quarter run.
Sophomore forward
Delaney Sjong (Salem, Wis.) followed with 10 points for Carroll, which made made only one basket from 3-point range, 4 of 7 free throws and shot 34.4 percent from field-goal range. Sophomore guard
Emily Majerus (Plymouth, Wis.) had seven points, three rebounds, three assists and a steal.
Freshman forward
Kayla Stefka (Johnsburg, Ill.) had five points with senior guard

Alyssa Cruz (West Allis, Wis.) each adding four points.
Senior 6-foot-1 center Adrienne Boettger scored a game-high 16 points to lead Wartburg, which made 13 3-pointers, 9 of 11 free throws and shot 66.1 percent from the field.
