This week's Pioneers of the Week demonstrated their talent and carried their respective teams to success.

First up for the women, Junior outside hitter Cassidy Mrotek has to be mentioned. She led the Pios to a 4-0 tournament record at the Red Hawk Invitational, hosted by Ripon College in Ripon, WI. Cassidy also had 11 kills en route to a 6-point comeback against North Central College in the final game of the tournament. Cassidy was placed on the all-tournament teams for her efforts throughout the day.

For the men, Shea Connell, Pios' soccer premier junior forward, gets the spotlight. Connell scored a spectacular goal against No. 23 ranked St. Norbert college on Sunday, and the Pios would go on to tie the dangerous and undefeated Green Knights, 1-1.
