Swimming and Diving Open 2019-20 Season at Home

Waukesha, Wis. – The Carroll University men's and women's swimming and diving team kicked off their season at home against UW-Oshkosh in the Van Male Natatorium on Friday, Oct. 25. The women started with a big win, 129-117, but the men trailed and fell 53-151.
 
The women Pioneers were led by first place finishes from Lindsey Coons (1650 Yd Freestyle; 19;41.67), Jordan Andrews (50 Yd Freestyle; 26.21), and Emily Wong (100 Yd Freestyle; 57.19). Danielle Martini, Madeline Nelson, Ellie Heiman, and Wong took home second place finishes in the 1650 Yd freestyle (Martini 19:55.07), 200 Yd IM (Nelson 2:24.96), 100 Yd butterfly (Heiman 1:04.87), 500 Yd freestyle (Martini 5:50.22) and 100 Yd breaststroke (Wong 1:15.54). Four Pioneers finished with a bronze, including Amanda Klaeser (200 Yd freestyle 2:06.98), Anina Lee (50 Yd freestyle 27.11; 100 Yd freestyle 59.44), Nelson (100 Yd butterfly 1:06.34), and Sara Janz (500 Yd freestyle 6:00.07).
 
For the men, Zach Mirza and Damian Barkow took home individual 2nd places. Mirza finished 2nd in the 50 Yard Freestyle (23.89), and Barkow placed in the 500 Yard Freestyle (5:57.35) and the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:08.09). Kentarrius Braxton was able to take home third in the 100 Yd freestyle with a 54.61, and in the 100 Yd breaststroke with a time of 1:13.35.
 
The Pioneers women won the 200 yd medley relay in 1:58.78 and the 200 yard freestyle relay in 1:44.08. The men finished second in these relays, with a 1:09.70 in the medley and a 1:45.78 in the freestyle.
