Waukesha, Wis. – The Carroll University men's and women's swimming and diving teams held their second and final home meet last Friday in the Van Male Natatorium. The Pioneer faced up against Lake Forest, where the men fell 51-98, and the women fell 85-120.
The women Pioneers earned four 1
st place finishes from
Lindsey Coons (Neenah, Wis.) (100 yd Backstroke, 1:01.76),
Ingrid Hay (Schaumburg, Ill) (200 Yd IM; 2:18.97),
Emily Wong (Gurnee, Ill) (100-Yd Butterfly; 1:01.48), and
Danielle Martini (Twin Cities, Min.) (500 Yd Freestyle; 5:46.38). Martini and Hay earned second place finishes as well in the 1000 Yd Freestyle and 100 Yd Backstroke, respectively.
Anina Lee (Greendale, Wis.) and
Allison Kriegler (Algonquin, Ill.) finished in third in the 100 yd freestyle and 100 yd breaststroke, respectively, and 12 other Pioneers contributed finished 4
th-6
th.
The men saw one first place finisher in
Zach Mirza (Winnebago, Ill.), who finished the 100 Yd Freestyle with a time of 54.72. Mirza, along with
Damian Barkow (West Bend, Wis.),
Kentarrius Braxton (Memphis, TN),
Michael Beckman (Greenfield, Wis.), and
Jerry Hinson (Greenfield, Wis.) finished with second place finishes in the 1000 Yd Freestyle, 200 Yd Freestyle, 50 Yd Freestyle, 200 Yd IM, 100 Yd Backstroke, 500 Yd Freestyle, and the 100 Yd Breaststroke.
Chris Fabian (Frankfort, Ill.) and Barkow added to the Pio's score with two third place finishes.
In relay events, the women placed second and fourth in the 400-Medley, and the 400-Freestyle, and the men finished in second in both the 400-Medley and 400-Freestyle as well. The men and women will travel this upcoming weekend to Millikin to start CCIW action.
