Waukesha, Wis. – The Carroll University women's basketball team is making its first appearance in the CCIW Women's Basketball Tournament a memorable one, by advancing to the Semi-Finals after defeating Augustana on Thursday night.
The Pioneers will travel down to Decatur Ill. to face the No. 1 seeded Millikin Big Blue in a 2 PM matchup. The Pioneers, the four seed, are 8-2 against the Big Blue since rejoining the conference in 2016-17 but have split the road matchups 2-2. The women have averaged 67.64 PPG against Millikin in those games. The last time these two teams met,
Theresa Wichser nailed six three-point jump shots and finished with 16 points in the 2020 season finale in Van Male.
The Big Blue is a different program this season, however. After finishing 2019-20 9-7 in the conference, and 16-10 overall, Millikin has only dropped three conference games and finished with eight wins. The Big Blue is 6-1 at home this season as well.
The Pioneers are allowing just 61.1 PPG, the fourth-best mark in the conference, to Millikin's 76.8 PPG scored on offense.
