CHICAGO, Ill. – The Carroll University men's soccer team ended their 2022 season on Saturday evening in the 2022 CCIW Men's Soccer Tournament. The Pios fell in their quarterfinals matchup against the number three-seeded North Park Vikings 5-1.
The Pioneers (8-11) finished with 16 shots against the Vikings, six attempts were on goal.
Josh Gonzaga had two of the team's shots on goal. Carroll took four corner kicks and held North Park to just two.
Tyler Hanson picked up five saves in the loss facing 17 shots.
The Pios traded possession throughout the first half, but North Park had the first strike of the game in the 12
th minute. Carroll stayed tough and responded in the 18
th minute with a goal by

Marti Solanellas Vilella. Carroll had two more opportunities at goal in the first half but both were recorded as saves.
The Vikings began the second half with a bang, scoring twice within the first 10 minutes. North Park scored twice more in the second half after taking 12 shots. Carroll had eight shots in the final 45 minutes, three of which were on goal.
Carroll's season ends after making their first career appearance in the CCIW Men's Soccer Tournament.
