DECATUR, Ill. - The Carroll University men's swimming and diving team won five events but it wasn't enough as it lost to Millikin University 108-75 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin dual meet at the Decatur Family YMCA Saturday.
Noah Biertzer won the 1,000-meter freestyle (11:14.29), was second in the 500 freestyle (5:33.15) and was fourth in the 100 freestyle (55.35) to lead Carroll, which generated its second highest point total of the early season as it dropped to 0-3 overall following the competitive conference opener.
Augusto Ureta won the 100 freestyle (53.87), was second in the 50 freestyle (53.87) and swam the third leg of the first-place 400 freestyle relay.
David Gonzales Jr. added a victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.11), swam the third leg of the winning 400 medley relay and anchored the 400 freestyle relay.
