DECATUR, Ill. – The Carroll University women's basketball team fell in the semi-finals of the 2022 CCIW Women's Basketball tournament to then no. 2 seed Illinois Wesleyan by a score of 60-65. Olivia Rangel led all scorers with 24 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Elizabeth Behrndt and Chloe Halverson added 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 points, two steals, respectively.
 
The Pioneers (19-7) finished with just four point off their bench, and failed to score over 20 points in a quarter despite shooting 43.3% from the field. Carroll scored 19 points off of 13 turnovers they forced with seven steals, but the Titans won the turnover battle, forcing 19 from the Pioneers. Carroll dominated the paint 40-30, but loss the fast break battle 11-8.

The Pioneers will wait for Monday afternoon, to see if they earn an at-large bid to the 2022 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. Without a bid, the Pioneers' 2022 season will come to a close.
