Pioneers fall to Wheaton in home-court conference dual

Horzewski earns gritty victory at No. 6 singles for Carroll

WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University women's tennis team lost to Wheaton College 8-1 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin dual meet the Jean Kilgour-Trailblazer Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.
It was the second consecutive conference dual loss for Carroll, which dropped to 1-3 in the league standings and 3-3 overall.
The Pioneers' lone victory came at No. 6 singles as Erin Horzewski outlasted Wheaton's Janet Kondo in a three-set battle 2-6, 6-3 (10-3). Horzewski improved to 1-1 in conference and 2-1 overall.
Wheaton improved to 2-0 in conference and 5-1 overall.
