WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University men's swimming and diving team lost to Ripon College 92-71 in a nonconference dual meet at Van Male Natatorium on Friday evening.
Brennen McClay, a graduate student from Shakopee, Minn., and
Edward McConnaha, a sophomore from Plymouth, Wis., each claimed individual event victories and contributed to a first-place relay team for the steadily improving, hard-working Pioneers, who dropped to 0-5 in dual competition this season.
McClay won the 100-yard freestyle (49.80 seconds) and McConnaha followed with a victory in the 100 backstroke (58.74).
The duo contributed to the first-place 200 medley relay (also comprised of
Robin Wallmersperger and
David Gonzales Jr.), which finished in 1:43.97.
Augusto Ureta followed with second-place finishes in the 100 butterfly (1:03.16) and 500 freestyle (6:14.35) for Carroll.
