Carroll women improve to 1-1 on road trip

Pioneers sweep doubles flight en route to nonconference dual victory over Greenville

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Maya Gaedtke won in three sets at No. 2 singles to lead the Carroll University women's tennis team defeated Greenville University 6-3 in a nonconference dual meet at Chaplin Park on Tuesday.
It was the second dual of a Spring Break road trip for Carroll, which improved to 1-1 on the trip and 8-7 overall.
Gaedtke, a senior from Antigo, Wis., outlasted Greenville's Callie Adkins 6-2, 5-7, 10-8 to improve to 6-7 overall.
Aalaiya Jacklin (No. 3) and Erin Horzewski (No. 4) each followed with a straight-set victory for the Pioneers.
Jacklin, a freshman from Racine, Wis., improved to 5-5 overall. Horzewski, a freshman from Milwaukee, Wis., earned her third consecutive individual victory to improve to 5-2 overall.
Gaedtke and Ashley LaBelle combined for a victory at No. 1 doubles (8-1), improving to 5-3 overall. Jacklin and Madison Ostrander won at No. 2 (8-2). Makayla Counsell and Kaitlin Brandl added a victory at No. 3 (8-3).
