BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Playing as the number five seed in Thursday's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Tournament Quarterfinals, Carroll's women's tennis team lost to fourth-seeded Carthage College by a score of 4-1. The Pioneers dropped two of the three doubles matchews to lose that team point, while winning one of the four finished singles matches.

In doubles action, Carroll's number one team of Natasa Pupovac and Katherine Trifilio won 4-3, but Carthage earned the doubles point with 6-1 wins in number two and three doubles.

Trifilio also won her singles match, defeating Sasha Manojlovic 6-0, 6-2, to earn the only team point of the day for the Pioneers. Gracie Niebler and Erin Horzewski battled at number three and five singles, before losing 6-1, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-1, respectively.

The Pios finish the season with an 11-7 record, which is the program's highest single season win total in eight years, while finishing with a 4-4 mark in the CCIW.
