Pioneers Battle to Scoreless Draw with Millikin

WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University women's soccer team controlled much of the action Saturday afternoon but was unable to find a breakthrough as the Pioneers played Millikin to a 0-0 draw in CCIW action at Schneider Stadium. Carroll outshot the Big Blue 13-3 and earned 11 corner kicks while posting its second consecutive shutout.

The Pioneers generated chances throughout the match, especially after halftime when they recorded nine of their 13 shots. Harlie Seuser led the attack with five shots, while Carmella Nowak and Gabby Courtois each added two attempts. Carroll put two shots on goal and repeatedly pressured the Millikin back line with dangerous set-piece opportunities.

After a relatively even opening half, Carroll took control following the break. Seuser, Nowak, and Courtois each created scoring opportunities, while Bella Logue nearly delivered the winner in the closing minutes, forcing a save in the 90th minute. Despite holding an 11-3 advantage in corner kicks and keeping possession in the attacking third for much of the second half, the Pioneers were unable to break the deadlock.

Defensively, Carroll continued its strong form. Goalkeeper Ava Lewandowski made one save and collected her second straight shutout as the Pioneer back line limited Millikin to just three total shots and one shot on target. The clean sheet marks Carroll's fourth shutout of the season and extends its current scoreless streak to 180 minutes.

The Pioneers move to 2-2-7 overall and 1-0-1 in CCIW play following the draw, while Millikin leaves Waukesha at 6-3-3 overall and 0-0-3 in conference action.

Carroll returns to action on Wednesday, October 7, when it welcomes St. Olaf to Schneider Stadium for a non-conference matchup scheduled for 7 p.m.
