Nowak Earns First Team All-CCIW Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Carmella Nowak of the Carroll University women's soccer team has been named First Team All-College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin, highlighting the graduate student's final season with the Pioneers.

The selection marks Nowak's second first-team selection in her decorated Pioneer career, with her also capturing the Elite 26 award at the 2024 CCIW Championship.

Nowak earned the first-team distinction after appearing in all 18 games for Carroll, including 17 starts. She has recorded two goals and four assists for eight points while leading the Pioneers with 39 shots and placing 17 attempts on goal.

The honor adds another accomplishment to a career in which Nowak has been a consistent presence in Carroll's lineup. Across the last four seasons, she has appeared in 60 games and made 57 starts, totaling nine goals and seven assists for 25 career points. She has attempted 102 shots, including 45 on goal, and has recorded two game-winning goals.

Her most productive scoring season came in 2025, when Nowak finished with career highs of five goals and 11 points while adding an assist. She converted five of her 32 shot attempts and put 22 shots on goal while starting 14 of her 15 appearances.

Nowak followed that season by continuing to make an impact throughout her senior campaign. While her two goals contributed directly to the Carroll attack, her four assists represent a career high and doubled her previous single-season best of two, set in 2024. Her 39 shots this fall are also the most she has attempted in a season during her Pioneer career.

The Pioneers now turn their attention to postseason play. Carroll enters the 2026 CCIW Women's Soccer Championship as the No. 6 seed and will travel to No. 3 Illinois Wesleyan for a CCIW Tournament quarterfinal matchup on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. at Neis Field in Bloomington, Illinois.

A victory would send Carroll into the CCIW Tournament semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 4 against No. 2 seed Elmhurst.
