WAUKESHA, Wis. – Carroll University head football coach Mike Budziszewski has announced the team captains for the 2026 season, with the group being led by Amarrion Bridges (CB), Evan Griffiths (LB), August Johansen (DL), Marcus Johnson (RB), Elisha Nieves (QB), and Zach Johnson (WR).
The group represents a blend of veteran leadership, on-field production, and a commitment to the values that define Carroll Football. Throughout the offseason, these student-athletes have helped set the standard for accountability, work ethic, and team-first leadership as the Pioneers prepare for the 2026 campaign.
The announcement comes as part of Carroll Football's annual Passing of the Torch ceremony, a tradition that symbolizes the transfer of leadership and responsibility from one senior class to the next.
"Our players have elevated the level of accountability throughout the program, and these captains have been at the forefront of that effort," Budziszewski said. "They care deeply about their teammates, this program, and representing Carroll the right way. We're excited to see them lead our team this season."
The Pioneers open the 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 5, when they travel to St. Norbert College for a nonconference tilt. .
