John Blau was named Head Men's and Women's Golf Coach on August 8, 2022. The 2022-23 season will be Blau’s first year with the program.
Blau joins Carroll from Waukesha West High School, where he has been an assistant coach of the boy’s golf team since 2020. During his tenure, West advanced players to WIAA Sectional and State tournaments. Blau also brings five years of golf industry experience, having held club professional positions at courses in Florida and Wisconsin, and a PGA internship at Whistling Straits. Blau has provided instruction to players of all levels and is currently in the PGA’s Professional Golf Management program working toward his Class A membership.
Blau has been in the game and played competitively for over 50 years, from high school and college golf teams, to WSGA, USGA, and PGA Section tournaments, to club events at North Hills Country Club, where he was a member. Blau held a high school scoring record for 27 years. Prior to his golf career, Blau enjoyed a 35-year professional career in the airline and commercial finance industries, holding corporate finance, relationship management, and credit officer positions.
Blau earned his BBA and MBA degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, majoring in Finance, Risk Management/Insurance, and International Business. He resides in Elm Grove with his wife, Anne.
