Carter Meitzler was brought into the Pioneer Men’s Lacrosse program as the Graduate Assistant in July of 2026.
He comes in following a successful season as a first-year Head Lacrosse Coach of Batavia High School (Illinois), becoming the youngest non-football head coach in IHSA history and finishing with a 7-10 record after a 1-15 finish the year prior. While leading the Bulldogs, Meitzler developed a well-rounded approach to coaching, built a diverse offensive playbook, developed a first year goalie into an all-conference selection in 2.5 seasons, all while also adding 14 new players to the roster through recruiting efforts.
Meitzler started his coaching career at Kaneland High School in Elburn, IL, serving as a defensive assistant and the primary goalie coach. He then transitioned into the assistant role at Batavia High School (IL) and was committed to that position for 2 seasons between 2024 and 2025.
He also coached club lacrosse year-round for TeamOne Lacrosse Club out of Naperville, IL and served as the primary goalie coach while also interacting with all other aspects of the sport, helping to develop player skills and knowledge of game strategy behind their respective position.
Meitzler graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2025 and was a 4-year player at the club level, playing in numerous events within the Great Lakes Lacrosse League (GLLL) and serving on the executive board for the Huskies.
