Dave Schultz is in his first season as an Assistant Coach for Carroll's men's basketball team for the 2025-26 school year.
No stranger to Carroll, Schultz returns to the Pioneers' men's basketball program after serving as the program's head coach for seven years (2002-09). During his head coaching tenure, Schultz led the Pioneers to an overall coaching record of 109-64, which makes him the second-winningest head coach in program history. He led the program to two consecutive NCAA Division-III Tournament appearances (2005-06 and 2006-07) and their first-ever Sweet 16 appearance in the 2006-07 season.
Schultz also brings with him a wealth of coaching experience at the high school level at both Waukesha West and Kettle Moraine High School. During his tenure at Waukesha West, he led the program to a 236-98 overall record (.700 winning pct.), while being named the Wisconsin Coach of the Year in 1995 and Waukesha County Coach of the Year on three occasions. Schultz is one of only four coaches in state history to lead a Wisconsin team to the final four in the WIAA High School State Tournament and the Sweet Sixteen of an NCAA Tournament, with high-profile names Ken Anderson, Dick Bennett, and Jack Bennett rounding out that selective list.
Schultz also has experience at the professional level, working as an Advance Scout for various coaches and franchises in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The teams he has worked for in that capacity include the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, and San Antonio Spurs.
A Plymouth, Wis. native, and 2023 inductee into the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Hall of Fame, Schultz graduated from UW-Oshkosh, where he was a member of the Titan's men's basketball team. He currently resides in Waukesha.
