Miles Bankston joined the Carroll University women's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2026.
Bankston brings more than a decade of coaching experience spanning the collegiate, high school, AAU, and professional levels. Prior to joining Carroll, he served as the head girls basketball coach at Slinger High School, where he led all aspects of the program, including player development, practice planning, game preparation, recruiting support, and program culture. Under his leadership, Slinger produced four All-Conference players, a WBCA All-Star, an All-State Honorable Mention selection, and more than 30 Academic All-State student-athletes.
Before Slinger, Bankston coached at Lake Forest College, Eisenhower High School, Hinsdale South High School, Buffalo Grove High School, and Waukesha South High School. He also spent six seasons with the Chicago Sky organization as a Player Development Associate, contributing to player development, practice preparation, video scouting, and basketball operations.
In addition to his scholastic and collegiate coaching experience, Bankston has been heavily involved in AAU basketball, serving as a head coach and program advisor with Wisconsin Purple Aces, Wisconsin Impact, and ALL IN Athletics. Throughout his AAU career, he has helped dozens of student-athletes continue their playing careers at the collegiate level through skill development, recruiting guidance, and relationship building with college coaches.
Away from the court, Bankston is a business education teacher and believes in developing the whole student-athlete. His coaching philosophy emphasizes meaningful relationships, accountability, continuous improvement, and creating a competitive culture where players are challenged, supported, and prepared for success long after graduation.
A former four-year student-athlete at Wilmington College, Bankston earned a bachelor's degree in sport management and holds master's degrees in Teaching & Learning and Curriculum & Instruction. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Sports Leadership from Concordia University Chicago.
