Josie Peterson had an outstanding weekend at Carthage, establishing a new school record in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:58.17, breaking the former mark of 1:58.58 set by Lindsey Coons in 2019. In addition to that, Josie claimed an individual title in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.74 seconds, while adding a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle (24.43). She also swam a leg on Carroll's fifth-place 200 freestyle relay, while anchoring the sixth-place 400 medley, 400 freestyle and 800 freestyle relays. She also etched her named in Carroll's program history with a record-breaking effort in the preliminaries of the 100 freestyle, finishing in 53.08 to surpass the previous mark of 53.10, established by former standout Val Julian in 2016.
