CHICAGO. Ill. - The Carroll University women's volleyball team lost to North Park University 25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 23-25, 15-12 in a dramatic, five-set College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin dual meet Friday.
Tied 11-11 in the decisive fifth set, North Park answered the pressure-packed challenge by responding with a 4-1 run to end the hard-fought, fast-paced marathon of evenly matched programs.
Junior outside hitter Dana Voltolina (St. Charles, Ill.) contributed a team-high 12 kills and two blocks for Carroll, which dropped to 0-5 in conference and 6-17 overall. Sophomore middle blocker Karley Wolf (Roselle, Ill.) followed with nine kills, freshman outside hitter Cassidy Mrotek (Manitowoc, Wis.) had six kills and freshman middle blocker Erika Dunnam (Shawano, Wis.) had four blocks for the Pioneers. Sophomore libero Rachel Harn (Freeport, Ill.) collected three service aces and 13 digs with freshman setter Emma Przeslicke (Evergreen Park, Ill.) adding five aces and 25 assists.
Sophomore outside hitter Lauren Wiltsie had a team-high 20 kills, 13 digs and three blocks for North Park, which improved to 1-4 in conference duals and 7-17 overall.
