(Appleton, Wis.)- A big third quarter propelled the Carroll University women's basketball team to an easy victory over Lawrence University, 61-41.

The Pioneers led 15-14 after one quarter and held a 31-26 lead at halftime. Carroll exploded in the third quarter, outscoring the home team 20-5 to push its lead to a comfortable margin.

Carroll connected on 47.1% of its shots from the field for the game while holding the Vikings to 30.4% shooting in the decisive second half.

The Pioneers also held an advantage at the free throw line, 12-3.

Carroll's Brittney Wald led all scorers with 24 points while Malory Christenson added 15 points and eight rebounds. Brittney Groer chipped in with 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
