WAUKESHA, Wis. - It didn't take very long for Casey Weyhrich to get her point across.
Weyhrich, a senior forward from Arlington Heights, Ill., scored what proved to be the winning goal on a double assist from junior forward Carly Oboikovitz (La Grange, Ill.) and sophomore forward/midfielder Delaney Pruitt (Ringwood, Ill.) 1 minute, 22 seconds into the game as the Carroll University women's soccer team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point 3-0 in a rain-soaked nonconference showdown at Schneider Stadium on Tuesday evening.
It was the fifth shutout of the season and sixth consecutive home-field victory for the Pioneers, who improved to 7-2-1 overall.
Oboikovitz followed with a goal off an assist from Weyhrich in the 27th minute for Carroll, which outshot UW-Stevens Point 9-5 - including a critical 8-3 shot-on-goal margin.
Pruitt rounded out the scoring in the 81st minute, collecting her sixth goal of the season on an assist from junior forward Daniella Bosben (Madison, Wis.).
Freshman goalkeeper Christina O' Block (Libertyville, Ill.) played the entire 90 minutes, making three saves to preserve a shutout.
UW-Stevens Point dropped to 4-6 overall.
