Sabrina Georgeff (Naperville, Ill.) at the 6:16 mark as the Carroll University women's soccer team defeated third-place North Central College 4-0 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin game at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on Wednesday night.
It was the second conference victory and seventh shutout of the season for Carroll, which extended its unbeaten streak to four games while improving to 2-1-2 in the highly contested league standings and 10-3-2 overall.
The dominant performance took on added significance as the Pioneers moved into sole possession of fourth place to stay in contention for a berth in the prestigious CCIW Tournament with three regular-season games remaining.
Leading 1-0 at the intermission, Carroll responded with three unanswered goals in the second half to pull away.
Georgeff followed with a goal on an assist from Meyer in the 49th minute for the Pioneers, who were outshot 17-12 but maintained a critical 9-8 shot-on-goal advantage.

Rachel Van Sluys (Sheboygan, Wis.) in the 74th minute. Van Sluys added an unassisted goal at the 74:15 mark to round out the scoring barrage.

Christina O' Block (Libertyville, Ill.) was a stabilizing force throughout the contest, registering eight saves to preserve a shutout.
Carroll has won 10 or more games in 15 of the past 16 seasons.
