FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Sophomore outside hitter
Kylie Mueller (Fox Lake, Ill.) contributed a season-high 12 kills and seven digs but the Carroll University women's volleyball team lost to Marian University 25-16, 25-18, 28-30, 22-25, 15-11 in a five-set nonconference dual meet at Sadoff Gymnasium on Thursday night.
It was the eighth five-set loss for Carroll, which dropped to 11-20 overall.
As the match remained tied 11-11 in the decisive fifth set, Marian responded with four unanswered points to ensure a victory.
Senior outside hitter
Dana Voltolina (St. Charles, Ill.) and sophomore middle blocker
Erika Dunnam (Shawano, Wis.) each followed with nine kills for the Pioneers, who fought back from an early two-set deficit to tie the match.
Freshman middle blocker
Melanie Barrios (Bolingbrook, Ill.) and freshman outside hitter
Sam Penzkowski (Racine, Wis.) each collected eight kills for Carroll, which generated 52 kills, 64 digs, 49 assists and 10 service aces. Junior libero

Jennilyn Joy Cave (Bolingbrook, Ill.) had 23 assists and eight digs for the Pioneers, who have competed in 10 five-set matches this season. Sophomore setter

Freshman outside hitter Jamie Schrauth had a meet-high 21 kills to lead Marian, which ended the season 10-15 overall.
