WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University women's basketball team struggled to overcome a slow first half and lost to North Park 74-33 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin game at Van Male Field House on Wednesday evening.
It was the seventh consecutive loss for Carroll, which dropped to 1-10 in the conference standings and 1-18 overall.
North Park, which improved to 3-8 in conference and 10-10 overall, outscored the Pioneers 36-14 in the first half - including what proved to be a decisive 21-6 run in the second quarter.
Junior forward Morgan Lund (Mondovi, Wis.) scored a team-high 10 points and grabbed a team-best eight rebounds for Carroll, which only converted two 3-point baskets, made 7 of 8 free throws and shot 20.3 percent from field-goal range. Junior point guard Brittney Wald (Antigo, Wis.) had eight points and freshman guard/forward Hannah Kloehn (Marshfield, Wis.) added six points.
Senior guard Liz Rehberger scored a game-high 19 points for North Park, which improved to 3-8 in conference and 10-10 overall.
