ST. PAUL, Minn. - Sophomore midfielder Ariannah Ritter (Sun Prairie, Wis.) and freshman attacker Darby Henjum (Rosemount, Minn.) each scored an unassisted second-half goal as the Carroll University women's lacrosse team lost to University of Northwestern 12-2 in a nonconference game at Reynolds Field on Saturday afternoon.
It was the fifth consecutive nonconference loss of the season for Carroll, which dropped to 1-6 overall.
University of Northwestern, which improved to 8-1 overall.
The Eagles, who improved to 8-1 overall, scored 10 unanswered goals in the decisive first half - including five over the course of the opening 10 minutes.
Freshman midfielder/attacker Talia Sherry scored a game-high four goals for Northwestern, which  outshot the Pioneers 31-4 - maintaining a 15-0 shot-on-goal advantage in the opening 30 minutes.
Sophomore goalkeeper Shelby Schoob (Sun Prairie, Wis.) made nine saves in playing the entire way for Carroll.
