MOLINE, Ill. - Carroll University (5-13, 1-3 CCIW) dropped the third and final game of a three game weekend series to 15th ranked Augustana College (17-3, 3-1 CCIW). by the final score of 18-5.
The strong pitching and defense displayed by the Pioneers on Saturday wasn't anywhere to be found on Sunday. Seven errors, six walks and a pair of hit batters would undo the Carroll efforts as Augustana combined the 15 free bases along with 18 hits to put 18 runs on the board.
Freshman Nolan Heck would be one of the few bright spots offensively, finishing the day 2x5 with a pair of RBI. Fellow freshman, Max Maney, would cap off a strong weekend on the mound working a clean seventh inning on the mound.
Carroll will return to action on Wednesday as they host Wheaton College at 6pm in Waukesha.
