KENOSHA, Wis. - Sophomore attackman Paul Kerchberger (Deer Park, Ill.) and freshman midfielder Dom Sabbarese (Verona, Wis.) each scored a fourth-quarter goal as the Carroll University men's lacrosse team closed out the season with a 10-2 loss to first-place Carthage College in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin game at Art Keller Field on Saturday afternoon.
It was the sixth consecutive league loss for the Pioneers, who finished the season 0-6 in the conference standings and 4-12 overall.
Carthage, which captured its second straight CCIW outright championship, improved to 6-0 in league and 15-3 overall.
Sophomore attackman Andy Szun scored a game-high four goals for the Redmen, who scored six unanswered goals in the first half - including four during what proved to be a decisive opening quarter.
Freshman attackman Jeff Schultz (Franklin, Wis.) contributed an assist for Carroll, which was outshot 62-11 in the contest.
Freshman goalkeeper Abe Escrada (Sammamish, Wash.) registered 19 saves for the Pioneers, who committed 33 turnovers.
