WAUKESHA, Wis. - Senior first baseman Kelly Strasser (Waterford, Wis.) went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to lead the Carroll University softball team to a 6-3 victory over North Park University in the finale of a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin doubleheader at Jean Kilgour Field on Saturday afternoon.
With the impressive series sweep, Carroll improved to 3-1 in the highly contested conference standings and 12-10 overall.
The game remained scoreless after the first inning but the Pioneers responded with three runs in the momentum-shifting top of the second.
Sophomore second baseman Maggie Erdman (Jefferson, Wis.), who also had two hits, delivered a two-run single to help fuel the key spree for the Pioneers. Sophomore right fielder Annika Graves (Muskego, Wis.) followed with an RBI single.
Carroll extended the lead to 6-0 in the third on a two-run homer by Strasser, who currently has a .357 batting average with three homers and team-leading 13 RBIs. 
Strasser added a run-scoring double in the fourth for the Pioneers, who pounded out nine hits in the contest and played error-free defense.
Senior right-hander Hannah Miller (Chicago, Ill.) was the winning pitcher, allowing three earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts and five walks in going the distance.
Sophomore catcher Kylee Witt went 2-for-2 and drove in a run for North Park, which dropped to 1-7 in conference and 5-25 overall.
