CHICAGO, Ill. - The Carroll University women's soccer team lost to University of Chicago 5-0 in a challenging nonconference game at Stagg Field on Wednesday night.
It was the first road loss of the season for Carroll, which dropped to 4-2 overall.
University of Chicago, ranked No. 2 in the nation in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III poll, scored two unaswered goals within the opening 12 minutes of a decisive first half.
Senior midfielder Mia Calamari, senior forward Caroline Olivero, senior forward Madori Spiker, junior midfielder Jenna McKinney and freshman forward Katie Jasminski each scored a goal in the contest for the Maroons, who posted their third shutout of the season and improved to 5-0 overall.

Rachel Van Sluys (Sheboygan, Wis.) each had a shot for Carroll, which was outshot 32-2 - including a key 13-2 margin in the first half.

Christina O' Block (Libertyville, Ill.) registered 11 saves in playing the entire 90 minutes for the Pioneers, who suffered their first shutout of the year.
