Rachel Van Sluys (Sheboygan, Wis.) scored what proved to be the winning unassisted goal at the 27:46 mark to lead the Carroll University women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Benedictine University in a nonconference game Saturday afternoon.
It was the second shutout of the season for Carroll, which has won four of its last five and improved to 5-2 overall.
The Pioneers outshot Benedictine 12-3 in the contest, including a 7-1 shot-on-goal margin.
Benedictine dropped to 0-7 overall.
