WAUKESHA, Wis. - Senior guard
Brittney Wald (Antigo, Wis.) scored eight of her game-high 15 points in the first half as the Carroll University women's basketball team lost to high-powered No. 18-ranked Illinois Wesleyan University 89-46 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin game at Van Male Field House on Saturday afternoon.
It was the fourth consecutive conference loss for Carroll, which dropped to 2-6 in the league standings and 5-12 overall.
The Pioneers were outscored 45-26 in the first half, including what became a decisive 25-14 margin in the second quarter.

Sara Hartl (Racine, Wis.) and freshman small forward
Delaney Sjong (Salem, Wis.) each followed with eight points for Carroll, which made four 3-point baskets, 6 of 17 free throws and shot 43.9 percent from field-goal range.
Freshman guard
Anna Menges (Manitowoc, Wis.) chipped in seven points and freshman guard
Mallory Olszak (Crete, Ill.) had five points for the Pioneers, who committed an uncharacteristic 34 turnovers. Freshman forward
Katie Rossetti (Wauconda, Ill.) added three points and a game-high 10 rebounds.
Junior guard Nina Anderson and freshman forward Raven Hughes each scored a team-high 12 points for Illinois Wesleyan, which improved to 7-0 in conference and 14-2 overall. Junior forward Ashley Schneider added 10 points for the Titans, who converted eight 3-pointers, 13 of 19 free throws and shot 51.5 percent from the field.
