BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Carroll University women's volleyball team lost to No. 15-ranked and first-place Illinois Wesleyan University in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin dual meet at the Shirk Center on Tuesday night.
It was the third consecutive road loss for Carroll, which dropped to 3-2 in the highly contested conference standings and 15-9 overall.
Two of the Pioneers' last three losses have come at the hands of nationally ranked opponents.
Junior outside hitter
Kylie Mueller (Fox Lake, Ill.) contributed six kills for Carroll, which finished with just 22 kills and committed 23 errors in the contest. Senior middle blocker
Karley Wolf (Roselle, Ill.) followed with five kills and three blocks.
Senior outside hitter
Josie Wierzal (Frankfort, Ill.) collected five kills, sophomore middle blocker
Rachel Noonan (Crystal Lake, Ill.) had four blocks and junior setter
Jennilyn Joy Cave (Bolingbrook, Ill.) had three service aces.
Junior outside hitter
Cassidy Mrotek (Manitowoc, Wis.) had nine digs and junior setter
Emma Przeslicke (Evergreen Park, Ill.) added 13 assists.
Senior outside hitter Rachel Burkman registered 15 kills, 13 digs, three blocks and an ace for high-powered Illinois Wesleyan, which won its 11th straight to remain atop the league standings with a 7-0 record and improve to 16-5 overall. Senior outside hitter Tyler Brown had 13 kills, 19 digs, two assists and a block for the Titans.
With the dominant Senior Night outing, Brown established a school record for career kills.
