WAUKESHA, Wis. - Senior forward/midfielder Delaney Pruitt (Ringwood, Ill.) scored what became the eventual winning goal off an assist from senior midfielder Jensen Meyer (Germantown, Wis.) at the 12:44 mark as the Carroll University women's soccer team defeated Olivet College 2-0 in a sunny, cool nonconference home-field finale at Schneider Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
It was the fourth shutout of the season for Carroll, which kicked off Homecoming Week by snapping a three-game home-field losing streak to improve to 4-8-4 overall.
Freshman forward Erika Hess (Green Bay, Wis.) contributed the other goal on an unassisted shot in the 68th minute for the Pioneers, who outshot Olivet by a 12-6 margin.
Junior goalkeeper Christina O' Block (Libertyville, Ill.) registered six saves in playing the entire 90 minutes for Carroll, which won at home for the second time this season.
It was the final home game for Pruitt, Meyer, senior defender Kimmy Wiley (Kewaunee, Wis.), injured senior goalkeeper Sabrina Sieger (Waukesha, Wis.) and senior midfielder Gina La Macchia (Mequon, Wis.)
Olivet dropped to 8-6-2 overall.
