KENOSHA, Wis. - Junior outside hitters
Cassidy Mrotek (Manitowoc, Wis.) and
Kylie Mueller (Fox Lake, Ill.) each contributed nine kills but the Carroll University women's volleyball team lost to high-powered Carthage College 25-14, 26-24, 28-26 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin dual meet at Tarble Arena on Friday night.
It was the first conference loss of the season for Carroll, which dropped to 2-1 in the highly contested league standings and 14-6 overall.
Junior middle hitter
Erika Dunnam (Shawano, Wis.) followed with five kills and four blocks for the Pioneers, who generated 38 kills with a .216 hitting percentage and committed 14 errors in the showdown of undefeated conference rivals.
Senior middle blocker
Karley Wolf (Roselle, Ill.) and sophomore middle blocker
Rachel Noonan (Crystal Lake, Ill.) each registered two blocks, senior defensive specialist
Amanda Hahn (Itasca, Ill.) had 15 digs and junior setter
Emma Przeslicke (Evergreen Park, Ill.) added 17 assists.
Junior outside hitter Megan Behrendt recorded a team-best 19 kills and junior outside hitter Shannon Kebisek had 17 kills for Carthage, which entered the dual hovering just out of the Top 25 and improved 3-0 in league and 13-7 overall.
