PEORIA, Ill. - The early season learning process continued as the Carroll University men's basketball team lost to NCAA Division I Bradley University 81-31 in a preseason exhibition game at Carver Arena on Thursday night.
It was the second opening-week matchup versus a high-powered Division I opponent for Carroll, which dropped to 0-2 in the preseason.
The Pioneers were outscored 41-20 in what proved to be the decisive first half, including a momentum-shifting 21-2 run over the course of the opening nine minutes of the contest.
Senior forward
Tyler Ingebrigtsen (Elk Grove, Ill.) scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds for Carroll, which made five baskets from 3-point range and 6 of 10 free throws. Senior guard
Troy Howat (Plainfield, Ill.) and junior guard
Nick Penny (Lake Zurich, Ill.) each had six points.
Freshman Ja'Shon Henry scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds for Bradley. Junior Koch Bar and Nate Kennell each followed with 14 points.
