WAUKESHA, Wis. - Junior middle blocker
Erika Dunnam (Shawano, Wis.) contributed a team-high nine kills and three blocks but it wasn't enough as the third-seeded Carroll University women's volleyball team was swept by sixth-seeded North Park University 27-25, 25-20, 25-19 in the opening round of the College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin Tournament at Van Male Athletic Complex on Thursday night.
The frustrating home-court loss ended the season for Carroll, which finished 19-10 overall following its first tournament appearance since rejoining the CCIW in 2016. The program earned 19 victories for the first time since 2010.
Senior outside hitter
Josie Wierzal (Frankfort, Ill.) followed with eight kills and two blocks for the Pioneers, who generated 37 kills with a .226 hitting percentage and committed 13 errors in the contest. Senior middle blocker
Karley Wolf (Roselle, Ill.) chipped in seven kills and sophomore middle blocker
Rachel Noonan (Crystal Lake, Ill.) had five blocks.
Senior libero
Amanda Hahn (Itasca, Ill.) chipped in 10 digs and junior setter
Emma Przeslicke (Evergreen Park, Ill.) added 18 assists.
Niki Ahlstrand had 15 kills for North Park, which registered a .542 attack percentage. The Vikings improved to 16-13 overall and advanced to meet second-seeded Carthage in the semifinals hosted by Illinois Wesleyan at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
