WAUKESHA, Wis. -
Amanda Osterhus pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and three walks to lead the Carroll University softball team to a 9-0 six-inning victory over Alverno College to open a nonconference doubleheader at Kilgour Field on Thursday afternoon.
It was the second consecutive no-hit performance of the week for Osterhus, who registered three strikeouts in the final inning to put an exclamation point on the effort.
Osterhus, a sophomore right-hander from Munster, Ind. who improved to 8-4 overall, faced 19 hitters in the contest and currently has 123 strikeouts through 79 2/3 innings.
Carroll, which won its fifth straight to improve to 15-8 overall, scored three runs on five hits in what became a decisive bottom of the fourth inning.

Ashley McNamara (Batavia, Ill.) delivered a run-scoring single to ignite the key scoring surge for the Pioneers, who aggressively pounded out 14 hits in the contest. Junior second baseman
Maggie Erdman (Jefferson, Wis.) and junior right fielder
Annika Graves (Muskego, Wis.) each followed with an RBI single to round out the inning.

Veronica Rodriguez (South Bend, Ind.) had a run-scoring single as Carroll extended the lead to 4-0 in the fifth.
The Pioneers, who have won nine of their last 10 games, added five runs in the sixth on a two-run double by sophomore third baseman
Lexy Kemnitzer (McFarland, Wis.) and a towering  three-run home run from Rodriguez.
Kemnitzer went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and scored three runs to power for Carroll, which earned its sixth shutout of the year. Rodriguez, who hit her second homer of the season, collected two hits and drove in four runs for the Pioneers.Â
