VERONA, Wis. – Carroll University (17-14, 5-12, CCIW) rolled to the big 21-3 win on Wednesday night over host Edgewood College.
The offensive onslaught started early and occurred often. Carroll scored two in the first, four in the second, three in the third and four more in the fourth to build a 13-0 lead after four.
Carroll would explode for an eight spot in the top of the eighth to extend the lead to 21-0, while cruising to the dominating 21-3 win.
Sam Harmeyer lead the Pio offense finishing 4x5 including a grand slam in the fourth inning. Dylan Callahan finished 3x3 with a three run homerun in the second and Jake Langford was 4x6 with three RBI. As a team the Pioneers pounded out 22 hits in the game.
Starter Cam Godinsky worked the first four innings allowing just two hits while striking out five. Senior Mark Carew worked a scoreless fifth and sixth innings to earn the win.
Carroll will return to CCIW play as they travel to Wheaton College on Friday for a single game at 6pm.
