WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University men's lacrosse team lost to Elmhurst College 25-1 in a cold College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin opener at Schneider Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It was the third home-field loss of the season for Carroll, which lost its sixth straight to drop to 2-7 overall.
Elmhurst, 9-1 overall, scored nine unanswered goals in the first quarter, including three in the opening minute of the contest.
Sophomore attackman
Jeff Schultz (Franklin, Wis.) scored off an assist from junior
Dakota Hwilka (Waukesha, Wis.) in the second quarter for the Pioneers.
Freshman attackman Cullen Nordemann had six goals and three assists to lead Elmhurst, which outshot the Pioneers by a 64-8 margin.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Abe Escrada (Sammamish, Wash.) registered 13 saves for Carroll.
