Box Score LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Junior outside hitter Kylie Mueller (Fox Lake, Ill.) contributed a team-high eight kills and a service ace as the Carroll University women's volleyball team defeated Manchester University 25-15, 23-25, 25-16, 25-22 in a nonconference dual meet to close out the opening day of the Lake Forest Invitational on Friday evening.
It was the first victory of the season for Carroll, which improved to 1-1 overall.
Sophomore outside hitter Sam Penzkowski (Racine, Wis.) followed with six kills, 10 digs and an ace for the Pioneers, who generated 13 kills in the decisive fourth set.
Senior middle blocker Karley Wolf (Roselle, Ill.) collected five kills, senior defensive specialist Amanda Hahn (Itasca, Ill.) had 14 digs and junior setter Emma Przeslicke (Evergreen Park, Ill.) added 18 assists.
