WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University men's soccer team played to a gritty 1-1 tie with No. 23-ranked St. Norbert College in a hard-fought, tension-filled nonconference game at Schneider Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
It was the first draw of the season for Carroll, which is 0-6-1 overall following the tenacious marathon 110-minute double-overtime performance.
Junior forward
Shea Connell (Alfaz Del Pi, Spain) scored the first goal of the contest between former longtime Midwest Conference rivals on an unassisted shot at the 3:02 mark for the Pioneers, who were outshot 14-6 in the contest - including a 6-1 shot-on-goal margin.
St. Norbert, 6-0-1 overall, battled back to tie the contest as Ben Prange scored off an assist from Griffin Hoerchner in the 46th minute.
Freshman goalkeeper
